“Not only is she an incredible actor, she’s an incredible director and artist. She balances collaborating with the actors and pushing us when we need direction. To keep us from being stuck in sentiment, she constantly drives us to play actions. While Saffron will let you know if something is working or not, she also cares deeply about each one of us and our well being. I love her directing style and am thankful for all the ways she has helped me grow as an artist.”
- Noel VanDenBosch, actor, TCR’s Little Women

RECENT AND UPCOMING PROJECTS

Little Women, Theatre Cedar Rapids, 2021

Adapted by Heather Chrisler and directed by Saffron Henke.

Enjoy the heartfelt retelling of Louisa May Alcott’s classic novel in a charming outdoor setting. In this adaptation, four actors in an attic use found objects from across time to create scenes of love, loss, and the ever-glowing warmth of the March family hearth. Jo goes on a journey of artistic self-discovery and coming of age as she struggles to become the writer she longs to be amid the classic triumphs and troubles of Meg, Beth, Amy, and even Laurie.

Directed by Saffron Henke

Dates:
Dec. 16, 18, 19, 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 19, 2 p.m.

Concord Floral is a one-million-square-foot abandoned greenhouse and a refuge for neighborhood kids; a place all to themselves in which to dream, dare, and come of age. But hidden there is a secret no one wants to confront, and when two friends stumble upon it they set off an unstoppable chain of events, from shadows in parking lots to phone calls from the grave. It's time for the teens of Concord Floral to start talking. For streaming information, visit CSUArtsTickets.com
